Cell phone question: T-mobile MyTouch 3g Slide?

I just ordered a slightly used T-mobile MyTouch 3g slide on ebay yesterday. I heard you can download apps onto this phone like an Iphone, is this true? Is this a good phone to have? It looks like it would be and it seems really nice. Any thoughts?

Will an iPhone 4 3G connection, bought unlocked, work on any (GSM carrier) network (internationally speaking)?

I know that in order to work with 3G data, phones need to access to certain wireless bands, so, my question is, if, regardless of were an iPhone 4 was bought (unlocked, through the Apple store) the phone can actually access all of the bands in which 3G service is transmitted (because yes, in the details page it states like 4 o 5 different bands, but I don't know if it is/has to be limited to a specific band).

For example, SonyEricsson makes different handsets for different parts of the world, and marks them as "a", "i" in the end (i.e. c905a, c905i), stating that it's an "american" or "international" version, and that has to do with the wireless bands that the handset can access, and I'm not sure if it is the same thing with the iPhone.

ok, I know the carrier needs to work in any of the bands that the iPhone has, but, supposing that a carrier in America actually sells iPhones (so, it works with a usable wireless band), will the iPhone be capable of also working with the band of any other carrier that also sells the iPhone in Europe?

Quick question about the new iPod touch 4?

Can we expect the same rush for the new iPod touch 4 as the rush for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4? I just put my old iPod touch 3G for sale on eBay and I really don't want to wait 2 or 3 weeks without my music library. I haven't bought an iPod as soon as it came out before but this one is the exception, so I wouldn't know about the rush for iPods.

I have two questions about the iPod Touch. Please answer?

First question: I'm getting the iPod Touch 3G for my birthday. When it says it comes with free wi-fi, does that mean I can be somewhere that doesn't offer wi-fi and still be able to get onto the internet?

Second question: Where are the iPod Touch apps located on iTunes? Or would I just buy iPhone apps and those are the same..? I'm confused.
@The first answerer: I'm in the apps section and there's only two choices: iPhone apps or iPad apps. Does iPhone apps mean iPhone/iPod Touch apps?
I don't think my mom will be able to afford the 4G iPod Touch. I know it's only like 40 dollars more but I don't think she'll pay over 200 dollars for an iPod (the iPod Touch 3G only costs like 170 something in stores). We'll see though =)

i saw theres a app for iphone,text free unlimted,it says its free to download and use, i have iphone 4, with the 200mb plan wit no texting,i wanted to use this app to avoid paying for texting,just a few questions about it tho,do i need to be on wifi to use it? does it use alot of data to send a text when im on 3G? and will it use data when im on wifi? and is there any hidden charges? thanks in advance

Im thinking about buying an iPhone 3g and either unlocking it myself or getting it already unlocked. (I had an iPod Touch that I jailbroke before so It cant be that much harder right?)

My question was what are the downsides of doing this? I got my iPod Touch stolen and rather than buying another one Id rather have my phone and ipod in one.

How hard is it to unlock it for tmobile? Will I be able to buy apps from iTunes still? will they work? I know that the 3g is slow but It doesnt matter. Will Tmobile penalize me for this at all?

If im using DATA on WiFi, can calls still come in? Or how does it work using wifi for data instead of the 3G?

And does the phone really use a lot of data when it is asleep? because I know when the phone goes black/sleep the Wifi gets disconnected and 3G kicks in.

hey guys so i have the Iphone 3g that my cousin gave to me awhile back, it still works fine but it's annoying that i still have version 2.2.1 & i can barely download any apps because most of them require 3.0 & up which sucks. My Iphone is JAILBROKEN & UNLOCKED & i'm afraid to do anything to it because i don't want it to lock on me like it did last time, i have someone who can update my phone but i can not get a hold of him right now, so i would like to know how to do Upgrade my Iphone software to 3.0 or 3.1.3 I barely know any of this stuff i don't major in Iphone upgrading i just know it needs to upgrade because its driving me crazy i'm young too so i don't get how it all works & a step by step video or website on how to upgrade the software would be nice too.

Is the internet on it like the regular internet or is it the like Verizon kinda? i have at&t and have the vu (lame ikr) and i really miss a keyboard. okay so my cousin had the iphone 3g, but he just got the new iphone, so he sent his old iphone to me. i was planning on using it as just an itouch because my parents won't let me use it as a phone. it wouldn't work unless i put sim card in it.. so i put mine in, and now it's working like a legit phone (i can call it). does this mean that on my cell phone bill, i'm paying for the extra iphone service now?!

I need to buy the iPhone 4 because I will gift it to my uncle. The only problem is, he doesn't use AT&T and he isn't going to switch to AT&T either. The price of an iPhone 4 16 GB is $199.99.
