This site is completely free, All you do is upload the song you want as a ringtone. It will convert it to a ringtone format, and give you a download for it. Put that downloaded file back into itunes and before you sync go to the ringtones tab and make sure the file shows up and then sync. Then set it like you would a normal ringtone.

No... You have to pay a fee (1.99, I think) to Apple to have your songs converted to ringtones.

I actually searched a similar question several days ago. while attempting to look the solution I ended up getting the newest iphone for free from www.2iphone4site.tk!!! the iOS4 is arriving any days now and it's going to be awesome!!!
